Roxanne Drew Palmer spent her formative years in Southern California, then lit out for the East Coast and never looked back. She received a degree in English literature from Brown, where she wrote her honors thesis on Herman Melville's Civil War poetry. At the same time, she was still putting in a lot of hours putzing around in the University greenhouse and thinking about dinosaurs. Roxanne wants to be a journalist because she can't sit still for very long, and also likes the idea of bothering people for a living. Since childhood, Roxanne has suffered from a condition in which she compulsively doodles on any blank piece of paper. Some people found her scribblings funny, so she started passing them off as comics. Her other job is selling fish.
