Perhaps a missing point is the need for in-stream flows. So much irrigation water is withdrawn that warmer temperatures occur when the flows allocated for fish are too low. I had no idea that habitat for trout could be so affected by potential climate change. The economic impacts to (especially) smaller communities in the western states could be profound. This is the type of article that needs wide distribution in many different media formats. Ms. Lyman has done an excellent job with this important subject. Please keep up the good work.
